The program was organised by the KSCSTE – Centre for Water Resources Development and Management (CWRDM). The program took place on 26th November 2019 to kick-off the research project “Water4Change – Integrative and Fit-for-Purpose Water Sensitive Design Framework for Fast Growing Liveable Cities” and to introduce the research project to the local administration, concerned authorities, academics and researchers. The Workshop was inaugurated by Shri. A. Pradeepkumar, Hon’ble Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) and Shri. Thottathil Raveendran, (Worshipful Mayor, Kozhikode Corporation) presided over the function. During the inaugural address Shri. A.Pradeepkumar MLA gave an overview of the water resources of the Kozhikode city and various traditional ways to conserve water. Dr. Anitha. A.B., Executive Director, CWRDM, Smt. Shamin Sebastian (Deputy Collector), Kozhikode, Dr. P.S. Harikumar, Senior Principal Scientist, CWRDM, Kozhikode, Smt. Meera Darsak, Deputy Mayor, Kozhikode Corporation, Shri. M.C. Anil Kumar, Chairman, Town Planning Standing Committee, Kozhikode Corporation addressed the session. A total of 125 delegates including Councilors, government officials from different departments (Water Authority, Irrigation, District Disaster Management Authority, Haritha Keralam Mission, Suchitwa Mission, Govt. Engineering College, National Institute of Technology,  Regional Town Planning), elected representatives and Scientists participated. Dr. U. Surendran., Senior Scientist, CWRDM delivered the vote of thanks.
